Trick or Treat
We enjoyed Halloween festivities all day! First we went to the library for a Halloween party, then we went to the mall with some playgroup friends for trick or treating at the stores. The day ended with trick or treating as a family in our neighborhood. Of course the day included our traditional Halloween chili and a yummy pumpkin cookie for dessert.

The Big 3!

It is hard to believe that Joseph is 3! The years have flown by. How bittersweet it can be. I find myself choking back a tear or two as he bounds into boyhood with a new sense of independence, but am also filled with immeasurable joy as I watch him embrace life with confidence and enthusiasm. How much we have to look forward to in the next year ahead.
Here are some pictures of his birthday party. As you can see Thomas the Tank was the theme. We had a wonderful day with family and friends, but of course missed the family who could not join us. The party goers worked on the railroad, made Thomas trains to wear, and of course enjoyed Thomas the Tank birthday cake. It will be a day to remember!

Picking out a pumpkin
We went to a "Pumpkin Garden" to pick out our pumpkin. We had a great time. However, Joseph had a difficult time picking out just the right pumpkin. After much debating and evaluating, we finally found one that was worthy to take home. Sorry, no pictures of the lucky winner, but we did snap a few while he was checking out the inventory. Not many turned out, but here is one of the better ones.

Day out with Thomas!

What a wonderful day! As part of Joseph's birthday celebration we took him to "A Day Out with Thomas" at the North Carolina Museum of Transportaion. We rode Thomas, took in a show with Bob the Builder, and met Sir Topham Hatt. Joseph loved seeing all the trains...old, new, big and small. The day could not have been more perfect. Here are a few pictures of the day.
